Jamshedpur FC head coach Antonio Iriondo has expressed his disappointment with the 1-1 draw and has lamented that the referee missed a penalty in favour of Jamshedpur. The Spanish coach has also updated about the injury of league top scorer Sergio Castel who scored a goal in the game.

Hosts Jamshedpur FC could not end the unbeaten run of NorthEast United as they shared the spoils on Monday at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur. Sergio Castel put Jamshedpur ahead in the 28th minute, however, in the 89th-minute Panagiotis Triadis scored the equalizer to make it 1-1. Jamshedpur head coach Antonio Iriondo lamented about a referee decision that denied a penalty and expressed his disappointment with the loss of two points.

“Both teams used all the tools in their possession to win the match. I think we had more ball possession. We could have had a penalty but the referee missed it. We lost two points tonight.” Antonio Iriondo told reporters at the post-match press conference, ISL website reported.

The draw was the sixth consecutive one in the ISL and coach shared his thoughts on the close encounters. “In this league all the teams are similar and matches are close. All teams are playing well. There were some decisions that didn’t do it justice. Hopefully, by the end of the season, we get some luck with respect to the decisions,” he added.

Jamshedpur have already lost playmaker Piti to an injury. However, in a big blow, Jamshedpur lost the league top scorer Sergio Castel in the match. It was Castel's goal in the 28th minute that put Jamshedpur ahead in the game. And the coach hopes to get him back soon.

“It’s bad that he got injured at that stage from that tackle. His ankle is swollen. But we haven’t done a medical evaluation yet but we hope he recovers for the next match. At this point, we don’t want to miss two players like him and Piti. Hope we can get him back soon,” Iriondo said.
