ISL | Nelo Vingada replaces David James as head coach of Kerala Blasters
Just as the Indian Super League is scheduled to resume in a few days, the Kerala Blasters have announced Nelo Vingada as the new coach of the side and he will take the place of David James who was removed earlier. The blasters have only won one match out of 12 in the 2018-19 ISL season so far.
Nelo Vingada has been chosen by the Kerala Blasters as the new head coach of their side. He will replace David James, who was removed after Blasters’ humiliating defeat to Mumbai City FC by 6-1 goals in the first part of the ongoing Indian Super League(ISL) season. Blasters, who currently are reeling at the eighth position on the points table, would hope that the man from Portugal can help the team claw back to the top.
“We are happy to welcome Nelo Vingada to Kerala Blasters. With his impressive register of achievements and years of notable expertise, we are positive that his tenure will be successful not just for the remaining season of the ISL but also for the upcoming Super Cup. We wish Nelo all the best on his new assignment.” said Nitin Kukreja, Director, Blasters Sports Ventures Private Limited, which operates Kerala Blasters as reported by goal.com.
This is not a first-time experience for Vingada in the ISL as he already had a stint with the North East United FC in the 2016-17 season. The coach was upbeat about his appointment and stated that he was looking to see some good results for the team in the upcoming matches.
“I am equally thrilled to join Kerala Blasters for the remaining season of the ISL. It has always been a pleasure to work with talented Indian boys and I hope to see good results for the team in their upcoming matches,” said Vingada.
