David Luiz has been brilliant and changed the team, admits Calum Chambers
Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is keen to learn from new signing David Luiz after Luiz’s £8 million move from Chelsea. The Brazilian has had a brilliant start to life at Arsenal as he has comfortably slotted himself at the heart of the defence and was on the score-sheet as well against Bournemouth.
David Luiz joined Arsenal from London rivals Chelsea and scored the first goal for the new club on Sunday against Bournemouth at the Emirates. The win now takes Gunners to the third spot. The 32-year-old, who played for Paris Saint-Germain between two spells with Chelsea, has won 15 major honours during his career. Calum Chambers told Sky Sports that he is keen to learn from the experienced defender.
"David has been brilliant, he has come in and no-one in the club has a bad word to say about him. He is one of the nicest guys I have met, he talks to you, gives you advice and makes everyone feel like he is giving you his undivided attention. Off the pitch, he is a great guy and on the pitch, he brings his qualities and is playing well at the moment," said Chambers reports Sky Sports.
"He brings some added experience, obviously, he was won things and I haven't won as many things as he has, so there are things I can learn from him both on and off the pitch, it is always good to have an experience like that in the team."
Chambers started the game against the Cherries and has been used regularly by Unai Emery. Arsenal needs to improve and continue performing if they are to achieve Premier League qualification. The former Fulham loanee also told Sky Sports that there’s still a lot for the team to improve upon.
“Yes, we have got a really strong squad, a lot of quality players. We know we have got quality and we can see that, we have just got to keep working hard and believing in ourselves and the results will keep on coming," said the 24-year-old.
