Jamshedpur FC's head coach Antonio Iriondo has stated he is happy with the match and the improvement from the last game after their commanding 3-1 win over Hyderabad FC at the JRD Sports Complex. The coach also spoke about the missed chances but also hailed the performance of Farrukh Chawdhary.

Jamshedpur FC comfortably beat newcomers Hyderabad FC for 3-1 in their backyard on Tuesday. It was the hosts’ attacking brand of football that completely silenced the travelling Hyderabad fans as goals from Farrukh Chawdhary, Aniket Jadhav, and Sergio Castel sealed the game for JFC as Marcelinho’s solo goal ended up being a consolation.

Antonio Iriondo has expressed his happiness with the win, stating that he was pleased with the improvement from their last match against Odisha. “I am happy with the match because I think we played better than the last game. We played more like we want to play today. Maybe we couldn’t continue keeping hold of the ball as much as we would have wanted to, but it was an improvement from the last match,” said Antonio at the post-match press conference, ISL Website reported.

Jamshedpur FC were attacking relentlessly with a whopping 25 shots, 10 of which were on target. Hyderabad FC custodian Kamaljith had a busy day and saved the ball numerous times but he could only do so much. The goal margin would have been much higher if Jamshedpur hasn't missed some golden chances, although the coach wasn’t worried about that.

“Yes, we had chances to score a lot of goals. We would have loved to score more from the chances but the most important thing is that we were creating these chances and the team kept going and kept trying. I am happy that we won today.” said the 65-year-old coach.

Indian players also raised to the occasion with the experienced foreigners through Farukh Chaudhary, who despite missing some golden opportunities, became the hero of the match with the opening goal and then an assist to young Aniket Jadhav.

“No one wants to miss chances, but these things happen in football. Farukh is a good player and often, even great players miss a lot of chances. He is playing good, created a lot of opportunities and scored tonight. So, very happy with him.” said the Spanish coach.
