Frank Lampard and Ruud van Nistelrooy are now facing competition against each other for the vacant position at Coventry City. It has been reported that after parting ways with the Red Devils, Ruud van Nistelrooy has now applied for the head coach role at Coventry City.
He was sacked from the role by Ruben Amorim just after four games he had with the team. Following his departure from the team, he said that now his target will be to get into the team as a full-time manager. Now it has been reported that he applied for the post at Coventry City, for which Frank Lampard earlier appeared as the top contender.
The team has also suffered from severe backlash, after they sacked Mark Robins as the head coach, who led them to various playoffs. Now, with Van Nistelrooy getting himself applied for the position, it becomes a challenge for Frank Lampard. However, there has been no further discussion regarding the same, as both of these legends remain in contention for the role.
Doug King talked about the same, saying,“We've received a huge amount of CVs from high-quality people, of which Frank is one. We've done nothing on that process...but clearly we're in the international break, we'll be assessing everything. We'll work out who's going to make the shortlist and we'll go from there.”
