Arsenal legend Ian Wright has advised Raheem Sterling to play with confidence despite struggling for form. With Arsenal's injury crisis and his uncertain future, Wright encouraged Sterling to give his all on the pitch. The Chelsea loanee has played 575 minutes for Arsenal, scoring once and assisting twice, but has yet to reach his full potential.
For the struggling Raheem Sterling, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has advised him to regain his confidence and play freely, especially given the club's ongoing injury crisis. Speaking on his Wrighty's House show, Wright noted that Sterling showed promise during his recent appearance against Manchester United in the FA Cup, where he appeared sharp. However, he has yet to consistently reach his potential at Arsenal since joining on loan from Chelsea.
Wright emphasized that with the uncertainty around Sterling’s future at the club, as it is unlikely the loan move will turn into a permanent contract, the player has nothing to lose. He encouraged Sterling to play without worry, aiming to give fans something exciting to watch.
Sterling, who has only played 575 minutes across 14 matches for Arsenal, has had a tough time finding form, scoring once and providing two assists. His challenges were highlighted earlier in the season when pundit Stan Collymore criticized him for not improving Arsenal’s frontline. Despite this, Wright remains hopeful that Sterling can find his spark, especially as the Gunners are facing a tough run of fixtures amid a depleted squad.
