Barcelona have identified Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane as their prime target to replace Robert Lewandowski, whose contract ends in June. Kane, 32, has scored 108 goals in 113 games since joining Bayern for £100m in 2023. With a £57m release clause, Barcelona are considering triggering it next summer.
After the success of his spell at Bayern Munich, Harry Kane has emerged as Barcelona’s top target to replace veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires in June 2026. According to The Guardian, the Spanish champions view the 32-year-old England captain as the perfect successor to the 37-year-old Polish forward. Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 for £100 million, has been outstanding in Germany, scoring an impressive 108 goals in 113 appearances.
He also helped Bayern reclaim the Bundesliga title last season, finally ending his long wait for a major trophy. Barcelona are reportedly ready to activate the £57 million release clause in Kane’s contract next summer. While Kane has publicly stated he is open to extending his current deal with Bayern, which runs until June 2027, the lure of playing for another European giant could tempt him to make the switch.
The Catalan club already have another English player, Marcus Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, with an option to buy him permanently for £30 million. Meanwhile, club president Joan Laporta has dismissed rumors of Lionel Messi’s return, insisting it is not the right time to speculate about unrealistic scenarios.
