Norway has taken a unique approach to their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign by bringing 116 kg of brown cheese, 300 kg of fish, and 6,000 oranges from home to their training base in North Carolina. Inspired by the nutrition standards, the team has also hired 3 celebrity chefs.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, Norway have taken extraordinary measures to ensure their players maintain a high quality diet during the tournament in North America. Led by star striker Erling Haaland, Norway have brought three renowned chefs from home to oversee the team’s meals throughout the competition. Chefs Aron Espeland, Eirik Tufte and Christian Karlsson are working at Norway’s training base in Greensboro, North Carolina, where they have prepared an extensive nutrition plan for the squad.

The team has transported around 300 kilograms of red fish, 116 kilograms of Norway’s famous brown cheese and 6,000 oranges from their homeland to support the players’ dietary needs during the month-long event. Freshness is a major priority for the Norwegian camp. The chefs have been provided with new kitchen equipment, including juicers, to prepare approximately 15 litres of fresh orange juice every day across a 30 day period.

The menu, planned since November, features a buffet served four times daily for more than 60 people. Players can choose from a variety of dishes including fish, chicken, potatoes, rice, pasta, tacos and large cuts of meat. The chefs have focused on creating simple, familiar and nutritious meals that are suitable for the hot summer conditions, helping Norway stay at peak fitness as they compete in their first World Cup since 1998.
