Harry Kane has vowed to break Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga record of 41 goals in a single season. The Bayern Munich striker scored 36 goals in 31 league games this season, falling short of both Lewandowski’s 2021 tally and Gerd Müller’s 40 goals from 1971/72.

Kane believes staying fit and playing regularly could help him reach 42 goals in the future. In the 2025 and 2026 Bundesliga seasons, FC Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane came close to creating history but narrowly missed breaking the legendary single season Bundesliga scoring record held by Robert Lewandowski. Kane scored 36 goals in just 31 league matches, helping Bayern complete one of the most dominant attacking campaigns ever seen in European football.

However, Lewandowski’s incredible 41 goal tally from the 2020 and 2021 season still remains untouched. Kane’s total was also short of another Bayern icon, Gerd Müller, who scored 40 goals during the 1971 and 1972 Bundesliga campaign. Despite missing the record, Kane believes the target is still achievable. In a recent interview, the England captain openly stated that breaking the 41 goal mark is now his objective and insisted the record is “certainly not impossible.”

The striker admitted that fitness and regular playing time will be key factors in reaching that milestone. Injuries during the international break also affected his chances this season. Kane’s comments have further fueled speculation that he could remain at Bayern for the long term while continuing his pursuit of Bundesliga history.
