Kargil war hero's father threatens hunger strike against Indo-Pak T20 match
With India set to face Pakistan in the upcoming 2016 World Cup T20 on March 19 at Dharamsala, father of Kargil war hero Capt. Saurabh Kalia has threatened to go on a hunger striker to oppose the match, according to a report published by Zee news.
India and Pakistan have been drawn in Group 2, along with New Zealand and Australia, in what could prove to be the group of death. While talks of a bilateral series between these two neighboring nations has stalled, the announcement of this fixture has been greeted with a lot of excitement and anticipation.
However, things might change following N K Kalia's claim that he will oppose the match with a hunger strike. According to Zee news, Kalia “will not allow Pakistani flag to be unfurled in India”.
Capt. Saurabh Kalia was killed during the Kargil war, after being tortured inhumanely as a prisoner.
Back in May, N K Kalia had started a petition to take Pakistan to the International Court of Justice for murdering his son on June 9, 1999.
