Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi showered praise on Virat Kohli, on Friday, by comparing the Indian vice-captain with Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Afridi said that Kohli has become a wall of the Indian team, winning them match after match with his bat, just like Sachin used to do.

Kohli has been in a golden touch in the ongoing World T20, playing match-winning knocks against Pakistan and Bangladesh, in tough situations, to take the Men in Blue to a virtual quarter-final showdown against Australia on Sunday. The latest to join the Kohli fan brigade was Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi as he compared the mercurial batsmen with Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

"Virat Kohli is becoming like a wall in the Indian team. Earlier, it used to be Sachin Tendulkar who won matches for India and now it is Kohli who is playing that role," Afridi said in the post-match ceremony after Pakistan lost to Australia by 21 runs to crash out of the World Twenty20.

Talking about the loss, Afridi said that Pakistan were not good enough on the day against the Aussies at Mohali.

"Honestly, we were not good enough. We had problems in batting. Our bowlers were doing well but in the last four overs, we gave away 40 runs. That is not good bowling and we cannot do that against a team like Australia," he said.

Discussions about the Pakistan skipper’s retirement has been in the air and he confirmed that he will make an announcement about the retirement plans in 4-5 days after returning to Pakistan.
