WATCH : Sunil Ambris becomes the first batsman to be out hit wicket for golden duck on debut

Amidst that, debutant batsman Sunil Ambris, who was capped by West Indies icon Joel Garner before the toss, got an unwanted record to his name by being the very first batsman in the history of Test cricket to be out hit wicket for a golden duck on Test debut. He also became just the sixth batsman overall to be out hit wicket for a golden duck in a Test inning.

On the first delivery of the 30th over, Ambris went deep into his crease as he nudged the ball towards the on-side. However, the momentum took him a little further backwards and he ended up stepping onto the stumps to begin his career in a bizarre manner. Until today, there have been 63 players to make a golden duck on Test debut, including Ambris, with 25 caught, 19 bowled, 16 leg-before-wicket, one run out, one stumped and, now, one hit wicket.
