Rohit Sharma is hopeful of a quick return to the international game after recovering from a thigh injury sustained during the final ODI against New Zealand in October that forced the 29-year-old to miss both the Test and ODI series against England. The Mumbaikar is eyeing the Australia Test series.

"I am really trying my best to get back on the cricket pitch as soon as possible. I can't give an exact date but I will try to play the series against Australia. I have been in a very positive frame of mind during this phase (injury period) though. Injuries are part and parcel of a game, you can't avoid them for long," Sharma told India Today.

"Also, this wasn't the first time that I was facing such challenging times. The key was to stay positive which I did. This really helped me a lot. I am really working hard on my fitness at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore and all the physios and trainers are helping me get back on the field quickly."

Australia will play four Tests starting at Pune on Feb 23.

"I am really happy to see them (team) do so well. I will like to give them many congratulations for the brilliant wins in Test, ODI and T20 series against England. I am sure all boys will continue to work hard and continue to play this way in future series as well."
