WATCH | Mithali Raj practicing with half bat ahead of final against England

Indian women’s cricket team is gearing up for the ICC Women’s World Cup final against England as they are not leaving any stone unturned. Ahead of the big final, skipper Mithali Raj adopted a new technique and was seen practising with a half bat, but still managed to unleash her free-flowing self.

Indian women’s cricket team is just a step behind from creating history as today they will play the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup against England at the mecca of cricket- Lord's. Earlier, India had reached the final of the 2005 Women's World Cup in South Africa under Raj’s captaincy but they failed to lift the trophy after losing to Australia by 98 runs. But this time Indian skipper didn’t in the mood to repeat that situation. In this tournament, she proved herself as a key factor for India despite heroics from Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana. Till now, she scored three fifties and a century. The India captain, with 774 rating points, also became the highest ODI run getter a few days back.

But this time Indian skipper is not in the mood to let the game slip from the hands as she put forward all her effort to lead India to glory. In this tournament, she led from the front and has been a key factor alongside Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana. Till now, she scored three fifties and a century. The India captain also became the highest ODI run getter a few days back.

While the team were gearing themselves up for the Sunday finale, Raj was spotted practising for the match in a unique way. Instead of a normal bat, she was seen batting with a half bat, not horizontally, but vertically.
