Indian opener KL Rahul has rejoined the Indian ahead of the remaining two Test matches against Sri Lanka. Earlier, the right-hander was ruled out of the ongoing first Test in Galle after suffering a bout of viral fever for which he was forced to stay back in Colombo to receive treatment.

After starting their Sri Lanka tour on a strong note, India have now been bolstered by the news of KL Rahul's return to the Test squad. The 25-year-old was ruled out of the ongoing first Test in Galle due to fever and stayed back in Colombo to receive treatment.  In his absence, Abhinav Mukund and Shikhar Dhawan opened the Indian innings in the first Test. But now, the  BCCI has confirmed his availability for the remainder of the Sri Lanka tour on their official page.

So far, Rahul has played 17 Tests for India and scored 1200 runs at an average of 44.44. He played a vital role in the four-match Test series against Australia where he scored 393 runs which include six half-centuries. Moreover, his contribution with the bat made him the first-choice opener for India. However, in his short career so far, he has been troubled a lot by injuries.
