WATCH | Kuldeep Yadav tricks Aaron Finch into a brain fade

With brain fade being so Aussie thing to do, yet another case of it occurred in the first match of India-Australia T20 in Ranchi. Australian opener Aaron Finch claimed to have a little bit of a brain fade while facing Kuldeep Yadav as the Indian tricked him into throwing his wicket away.

The famous Brain fade continues to haunt the Aussies yet again and it seems like the term Brain fade, an outcome of Steve Smith controversy during the Border-Gavaskar series, is not going to go away anytime soon. Aaron Finch had a hard time reading the left-arm wrist spin of Kuldeep Yadav while facing him and ended up having "a little bit of a brain fade" before getting dismissed for a well made 42.

In the 8th over, Yadav bolted four full deliveries to Finch and he opted to play the sweep shot on each occasion which yielded 3 runs in 4 balls for his team. Yadav returned in the 10th over and Finch stuck to his strategy and he got a single off the first delivery.

However, when Finch faced off with the leggie on the fifth ball, Yadav decided to change his length altogether. While he had been bowling good length balls until that point, Yadav decided to go fuller on this occasions. It proved to be the turning point of the game as Finch fell for the trick and was bowled through the gate. The With Yadav bowling faster through the air, Finch had no time readjust and get his front foot out of the way.

Kuldeep Yadav the went on to pick up the wicket of Moises Henriques as well which eventually led to him winning the Man of the Match award for the first time in his career.

“I'm very happy. This is my first Man of the Match. First couple of balls I saw what he (Finch) was trying to do and set him up with an overpitched ball. I always think about wickets and that's what really matters to me and the team. I'm getting more confident day by day and game by game. Performing well against a top side like Australia, I'm very happy for myself,” said Yadav after the match.

Later, Finch admitted that Yadav’s deliveries were hard to track and he found playing the sweep a safer option in such a scenario.

"I found that playing the sweep was going to be the safer option. One to get off strike and to get a boundary if I could hip the gap. That ball I got out on was a little bit of a brain fade to be fair. I went to sweep then just tried to chip him into the onside for one and missed it. That happens in the game, in particular T20," Finch told PTI at the post-match news conference.

"I thought on that wicket to Kuldeep, sweeping was a safer option than trying to take him over the top where some balls were spinning, it was hard to judge the bounce on a track. That was quite difficult."
