Happy, blessed and honored to be retained by CSK, says Dwayne Bravo
Windies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has expressed his delight after Chennai Super Kings decided to retain him at the mega-auction last week. Bravo has also added that an IPL without the two-time champions was just not the same and with the return of CSK, the league will be back to their past glory.
Chennai Super Kings are returning to IPL after a gap of two years and given the way they went about in the mega-auction, it is clear that they will be relying on their old formulas to get success in the league again. Apart from retaining MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja, CSK also decided to stick with the likes of Faf du Plessis and Bravo, who were significant cogs in their wheel when they last played in the league.
Bravo, who was one of the fan favourites at the Chepauk Stadium, was CSK’s top wicket-taker twice in 2013 and 2015, is elated to join the side once again with whom he won the league once and finished runners-up thrice.
"I'm happy, blessed and honoured to be retained by the Chennai Super Kings… Personally, it is the best franchise that I have ever played for and I'm looking forward to it and meeting up with our captain MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, (Ravindra) Jadeja and also to the newcomers who are now going to be new members of our family. Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu to just name a few guys who are going to join us and wear the Yellow jersey... can't wait!" said Bravo.
CSK, along with Rajasthan Royals,
"The return of Chennai Super Kings to the IPL is a big one, a special one, a moment that a lot of people were waiting for. Chennai Super Kings
"I think the return of CSK, you know, Dhoni again representing Chennai Super Kings, being the leader, the fan base, the fan following that we have in India and outside of India, they mean a lot. It's a mega club, it's a mega-franchise, it's a mega team... it's a well-loved team worldwide."
