Ambati Rayudu, after flunking his yo-yo test at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru was dropped from the Indian squad going on the England tour. His yo-yo score was around 14, which was less than the set standard of 16.1 as followed by the Indian Team Management for India and India A squad.

CSK star, Ambati Rayudu, who was a force to be reckoned with in the last IPL and was instrumental in CSK's championship run, couldn't surpass the Yo-yo test as his yo-yo test score was around 14 which was less than the prescribed standard of 16.1. A source of BCCI has informed that he will be dropped from the Indian squad that was selected for the England tour after failing the test.

In the process, Rayudu became the third cricketer after Mohammed Shami and Sanju Samson to fail the advance beep test conducted at NCA in Bengaluru. Mohammed Shami was replaced by Navdeep Saini for the one-off Test against Afghanistan.

Rayudu managed to score a colossal 602 runs in 16 matches in the IPL to help CSK win the trophy. His fierce performance in IPL was the reason for his return in the ODI format after one and a half years.

Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kedar Jadhav all passed the test along with Raina who had failed to qualify the test last year. Jasprit Bumrah, Siddharth Kaul, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Manish Pandey also took the test and came out with flying colours.

BCCI had made it compulsory for the Players to pass the Yo-yo test in order to partake in the matches for both India and India A squad. The test was conducted in the presence of Indian trainer Shankar Basu at the NCA in Bengaluru.
