Unfair targeting of Virat Kohli shows how easy it is to twist words, says Mohammed Kaif
Mohammed Kaif has voiced his concern over what he opined was ‘unfair targeting’ done in the case of the very severe public outrage on the reputation of Indian skipper Virat Kohli. This came after Kohli had asked a disgruntled Indian fan to leave the country if he could not support Indian cricketers.
Virat Kohli’s recent comments which were captured in a video for his newly-released app have certainly not gone down well with cricket lovers and critics all across the globe. While prominent names like Aakash Chopra, Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to criticize the Indian captain’s poor choice of words on a public platform, there have been certain individuals who have come out in support of the under-fire skipper.
Mohammed Kaif, who famously led India to a memorable win in the Natwest series against England during his playing days, took to Twitter to express his concern over all the hate that Kohli has been subjected to in these past two days.
"The unfair targeting of Kohli just shows how statements are twisted according to whatever suits the agenda of people. He has publicly in the past admired sportsman from across the globe & his statement clearly was in a certain context. But mischievous targeting is a norm for a few,"

Meanwhile, Kohli had already put out a Tweet earlier clarifying his entire stance on the issue which he made public on Thursday.
I guess trolling isn't for me guys, I'll stick to getting trolled! 😁

I spoke about how "these Indians" was mentioned in the comment and that's all. I’m all for freedom of choice. 🙏 Keep it light guys and enjoy the festive season. Love and peace to all. ✌😊
