India vs Windies | Mumbai may ask for more passes to host West Indies ODI
To organize the ODI game between India and Windies scheduled on 29th October, Mumbai is likely to ask for extra passes on the basis that the passes provided by the CoA are not sufficient. Pune, too, has asked the BCCI to advance Rs 10 crore to conduct the game in the city on October 27.
Maharashtra will host a couple of matches in the India-Windies ODI series with both Mumbai and Pune getting a game each. While Mumbai will host their ODI on October 29, Pune
“We will need at least 7,000 complimentary tickets to conduct a game. We have so many people to oblige to. By halving the BCCI quota, we’re getting about 600 more passes which will add up to 4,000 passes. We need at least 7,000,” an official from the association told.
The association is going to the high court to seek permission for an ad hoc committee to conduct the game. On Saturday, the CoA said it would sanction 604 extra complimentary tickets to the state units after Indore pulled out as a host and Chennai and Kolkata said they are not agreeable to the new complementary policy.
Also, TNCA said that they would take a call on hosting the game after having an internal meeting on Wednesday. Chennai is to host the third and the final match of T20I games on November 11.
Meanwhile, there are problems from Kerala and Assam units too. Thiruvananthapuram has been given hosting rights for the fifth ODI on November 1 and Assam has been allotted the first ODI (on October 21). These officials are expected to meet the CoA on November 9 but it is unlikely they will say no to hosting games.
Meanwhile, there is going to be a meeting between CoA and then the team management on Nov 10. They are to discuss the Australia tour and the World Cup games and the chance of two Indian teams playing simultaneously at different places in Australia.
