Sourav Ganguly has expressed his disappointment over the continuous changes in the rules of Indian domestic cricket. The former skipper wrote an e-mail to BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary stating that even the decisions taken at the technical committee meeting have also been overlooked.

There has been a constant change of rules from the beginning of the season about the restrictions on the wards of government officials to be recognised as local players or not. A couple of days ago, acting secretary of BCCI Amitabh Choudhary had criticised GM cricket operations Saba Karim as the latter decided to relax the one-year rule for the wards of government officials to be treated as local players.

Now, CAB president and the chairman of BCCI technical committee Sourav Ganguly has also expressed his unhappiness over this issue and has conveyed this in the trail mail to Choudhary referring to his mail to Karim.

“Dear Amitabh ji, I am totally agreeable to this and have brought to the notice of the concerned people. I am really surprised it goes through without consultation. Even the decisions taken at the technical committee meeting have been overlooked and new rules have been followed,” read the e-mail by Ganguly, reported TOI.

“It is complete chaos and against the basic constitution of the BCCI where the respective committees are holding meetings. Hopefully, the CoA will understand the importance.”

The CoA had relaxed the one-year requirement for work or study to play for a particular state after the Puducherry incident but it received protests from other teams and eventually, the committee had to go back to the original one. Now, before the commencement of the Ranji season, the CoA allowed three outstation players to play for Sikkim after deciding to relax the one-year rule for the wards of government employees to be considered as local players.
