IPL 2019 | It’s been dealt with and we’ve moved on, says Mike Hussey on MS Dhoni’s umpiring outburst

CSK skipper MS Dhoni was handed over a fine of 50 percent of his match fees due to his unprecedented confrontation with the on-field umpires for backtracking a no-ball decision during their chase against Rajasthan Royals last week. Mike Hussey on addressing the media feels that their captain’s outburst is dealt with and it’s time for their team to concentrate on their efforts and move on.

Hussey had a smile cut across his face when asked about Dhoni’s position in the Indian team for the upcoming World Cup. He answered that the former Indian skipper has been a valuable asset for the team so far irrespective of the position he has played in.

CSK has been performing well in all the three departments which has propelled top of the points table with six wins in the 12th edition of Indian Premier League. Deepak Chahar, who has bagged ten wickets so far in the league, has been economical and performed well in the powerplays as well. Hussey also stated that Dwayne Bravo is recovering from his injuries and hopefully he’ll make himself ready for a comeback.

“You watch the slow motions, the seam position coming down, it’s in beautiful position. He (Chahar)’s been very accurate and can swing the new ball; that’s why he’s used in the first few overs. His ability to pick up wickets in powerplays very important as well,” the former Aussie said.

Andre Russell has been exceptional this edition by contributing to his team’s victory with his bat and according to Hussey, Russel would be a challenge for the Super Kings tonight.

“He is obviously in great touch at the moment. I just think every team is going to have some clear plans against him. But I think you need to be really calm in the moment with him, very clear on where you want to try and bowl, then execute that skill as best you can,” said Hussey.
