CoA agree to let Kapil Dev & Co. select next coach of Indian cricket team
Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) have give the green light for Kapil Dev and team to select the next coach of the Indian senior team. Dev, along with CAC members Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy will elect the next coach from the shortlisted applicants.
The Indian cricket team are currently on tour in West Indies as they aim to recover from the disappointing exit from this year's World Cup. However, the Supreme Court-appointed independent body Committee of Administrators (CoA) has given the go ahead for the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) led by Kapil Dev to appoint the next head coach of the Indian cricket team.
"We have seen, it is fine. The meetings with the shortlisted candidates will happen in mid-August and the appointment will follow after that. CAC's decision with regards to appointment will be final," Rai was quoted as saying by PTI sources.
Apart from that, Rai revealed that 26 state associations have so far complied with the new regulations enforced by the independent body. He added that he expected that number to rise to 30 while he reminded that that the state bodies which are non-compliant will not be allowed to vote.
"Twenty six states have complied and appointed electoral officers. Only those states that are compliant will have voting rights," Rai added.
