West Indies have named Fabian Allen, the 24-year-old all-rounder, as a replacement for Khary Pierre for the third and final T20I against India at the Guyana National Stadium on Tuesday. The Windies have clarified that they’re eyeing to include Allen in the ICC T20 World Cup next year.

Allen, the right-handed batsman, has so far played nine T20Is and 10 ODIs. He last played for West Indies in the recent World Cup where he made his maiden half-century for the national side against Sri Lanka. He also performed decently with the ball in that game. In the World Cup game against New Zealand, he picked two wickets.

Robert Haynes, interim Chairman of selectors of West Indies Cricket has backed Allen’s breezy spirit and his ability as an all-rounder.

"Fabian is a lively and energetic all-rounder and someone who we believe can win matches for us. We witnessed his performances in the Caribbean Premier League last year and also saw in the recent World Cup what he's capable of doing," said Haynes, according to Windies Cricket’s official website.

"We are planning for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia next year, so we decided to include him here," he said.

The visitors have already sealed the three-match series and will aim for a 3-0 whitewash during the dead rubber final game against the Windies. India will play three ODI against the Windies following this ongoing T20I series.
