Anil Kumble has jumped to the defence of former India teammate Rahul Dravid who is under the spanner of BCCI ombudsman Justice DK Jain. The U-19 India coach has been issued a notice by the BCCI official citing 'conflict of interest' as he is NCA head and also holds a position at India cements.

Former India coach and cricketer Anil Kumble has leapt to the defence of the under-fire Rahul Dravid. Dravid made headlines earlier this week after BCCI legal ombudsman Justice DK Jain slapped a 'conflict of interest' notice on the former after doubts were raised over his position at CSK co-owned India cements and his position as NCA head. The former RCB captain claimed that every person has conflicts in certain areas, regardless of their profession.

"I think every profession has conflicts in every walk of life. How you deal with it, how you disclose those prior that what you are involved in, I think it is very critical. And once people know that you are involved in so and so, then I don't think there is any conflict," Kumble told reporters.

Kumble, who played 27 ODIs for India and took 337 wickets, further added that he hopes to see more former Indian cricketers can contribute to the development of the sport.

"It's unfortunate that every cricketer only has to deal with conflict and you know it's something unfortunate that only a few of them can only contribute. There are only a few cricketers who have played for India.

"There are only 300 as of now and out of 300, I guess 50 percent of them are living. So, only those can contribute back to the game. If you don't want them to contribute back to the game, then I think you need to find somebody else to contribute in cricket," Kumble added.
