New Zealand Cricket (NZC) have lodged a police complaint with the Tauranga police for the racial abuse that was directed at Jofra Archer at the bay oval after the conclusion of the first Test between England and New Zealand. The main culprits of the incident will be caught hold of using the CCTV.

England speedster Jofra Archer suffered racial abuse from the stands after the conclusion of the first Test between England and New Zealand at the Bay Oval. New Zealand Cricket has decided to stand by Archer and has lodged a police complaint against the supporters who directed racist chants towards him and are hopeful that the true culprits will be caught using the CCTV footage.

According to reports from ESPN Cricinfo, the culprit related to the incident later tried to contact Archer through Instagram andĀ NZC chief executive David White believes that there is enough evidence for the culprit to get arrested.

"What happened to Jofra was reprehensible and has led to a general upscaling of security around the area of racial abuse at all our international venues. Should the person responsible ever re-offend, we believe we have enough information to link him to the Bay Oval incident," White said in a press release as per ESPNCricinfo.Ā

New Zealand Cricket has clearly taken a stand against racism and has made it very clear that racism of any degree or any kind is not called for and will not be tolerated. The accused culprit will soon be found out by the Tauranga police and will be handed the necessary punishment that will be decided. The information collected from the CTV footage, interrogating the bystanders and social media is enough for the culprit to get a lengthy ban from international venues in New Zealand.
