The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad is set to play host for the finals of the 2019 IPL and BCCI curator, YL Chandrasekhar Rao, has promised a sporting wicket that will entertain fans. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Mumbai Indians in the final on Sunday.

The 2019 IPL final promises to be a treat for Indian cricket fans all across the globe as two of the most successful teams in the league - Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings - will go up against each other in what promises to be a hotly contested affair. That being said, the pitch in Hyderabad will need to be at its very best in order to accommodate the explosive batsmen in both camps.

BCCI curator, YL Chandrasekhar Rao, who is in the charge of handling the pitch at the RGIC Stadium in Hyderabad, has promised to give a sporting wicket that will serve as the source of entertainment for the fans.

"I want to succeed once again and we are working on the wicket and also the ground to meet the best of the standards. It's going to be a good wicket. We already have two wickets ready and the third one is being readied," he told TOI on Friday.

In the 2017 final, which was held in the same venue, Mumbai Indians made a modest 129 for eight and but managed to restrict the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant to 128 for six for a one-run win. However, there have been three 200+ scores recorded in the 2019 season at Hyderabad with the home team getting all of those. The highest being 231 for two against RCB. SRH had also got 201 for five against RR and 212 for six against Kings XI Punjab.
