India β€˜A’ cricket team recovered well after initial setbacks as they powered to 269/10 but managed to dismiss the Sri Lankan top order at the end of day one of the second unofficial Test in Hubli. Sri Lanka β€˜A’ managed to put up 87 on the scoreboard for the loss of four wickets on Friday.

Brief scores: Sri Lanka A - 87/4 (Niroshan Dickwella 27*, Ashan Priyanjan 19; Sandeep Warrier - 2/18, Shivam Dube 2/31) trail India A - 269/10 (Srikar Bharat 117, Anmolpreet Singh 65; Lahiru Kamara 4/53, Lakshan Sandakan 4/64) by 182 runs at the end of day one of the second unofficial Test in Hubli.

After enduring a comfortable win in the first unofficial Test against Sri Lanka β€˜A’ last week, Priyank Panchal-led India β€˜A’ entered the second Test as firm favourites of pulling off back-to-back wins against their southern neighbours. The home team won the toss and opted to bat first at the Nehru Stadium in Hubli but were in for a shock as openers Panchal and Abhimanyu Easwaran were both dismissed in the first over by Lahiru Kamara.

However, the middle-order Indian batsmen made up for the early setback as Anmolpreet Singh (65) and Siddhesh Lad (32) helped steady the ship. India β€˜A’ wicket-keeper Srikar Bharat top-scored for the home team with 117 off 156 deliveries as they were bowled out for a total of 269/10. Kamara and Lakshan Sandakan both bagged four wickets each at the end of the first innings in the second unofficial Test.

The Lankans also had a rough start as opener Pathum Nissanka was dismissed for a duck in the first over by Sandeep Warrier. Warrier picked up another while all-rounder Shivam Dube also picked up two wickets as Sri Lanka were reduced to 87/4 at the end of day one in Hubli with Niroshan Dickwella (27*) and Priyamal Perera (15*) at the crease.
