A successful invader who managed to run all the way across the ground to meet the Indian team in a huddle on the third day was met with a warm around him from skipper Virat Kohli. India went on to win the first of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs.

Cricket grounds in India are known all over the world for their high barriers preventing fans from invading the pitch. However, a lapse in security at the Holkar Stadium in Indore left a determined invader with enough time to climb over the high fences, cross the boundary ropes to enter the ground and meet Indian captain Virat Kohli.

It all unfolded during one of the drinks break on what turned out to be the final day of the match, as Bangladesh was bundled out for 213 in their second innings, still 130 behind India’s first innings total of 493. A video that has gone viral on social media platform Twitter shows the invader running all the way to the other side of the ground to meet Kohli, who was in a huddle with the team. Although caught off guard by the invader who stooped to touch the feet of the Indian skipper, a generous Kohli put an arm around the man and took him to one side as two security personnel were seen entering the ground. Kohli was then seen gesturing to the security to treat the invader in a soft manner.
