IND vs BAN | Haven't taken a decision on whether to go ahead with D/N Test, says Akram Khan
BCCI has proposed to host India's first day and night test at Eden Gardens but Bangladesh Cricket Board are yet to decide on whether to agree to the same. Bangladesh are set to tour India for two tests, the second of which will be hosted by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly's hometown Kolkata.
Sourav Ganguly was always interested in bringing pink-ball cricket to the local games when he was the Chairman of the Cricket Association of Bengal. Naturally, as the BCCI President, he has proposed that Eden Gardens may host India's first Day and Night test match if both the boards agree on it. However, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official has now revealed that the board is yet to decide on this proposal.
"They have proposed [Day-Night Test] us and we will let them know after thinking a while," BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan told Cricbuzz.
"We have received the letter two or three days and we will take a decision in this regard but we have not discussed about it. We will let them know about our decision within one or two days," Akram Khan added.
Players and team management of Bangladesh will be asked about this and thus BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that nothing can be guaranteed as of now.
"At first we have to take the consent of the players and members of the team management about it. It is totally a technical matter [playing day-night Test from skill perspective] and we have to consider that there is preparation required to play a Test with a pink ball," Chowdhury said.
The second Test between India and Bangladesh will be played at the Eden Gardens on November 22nd.
