Indian wicket-keeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, being a local lad, believes that the conditions at the Eden Gardens, especially during the evening under the lights, will provide added assistance to the pacers. India will play their first-ever pink-ball Test at the Eden Gardens against Bangladesh.

Exciting as well as uncertain times lie ahead as the pink-ball will be used for the first time in an International match in India. Wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha has grown up playing at the Eden Gardens and had played the country's first-ever Pink Ball match in a CAB Super League match. Saha has a fair idea of the conditions of the ground and what the ground offers to spinners and faster bowlers. Saha recalled the match between Mohun Bagan and Bahawanipore club match and stated that the ball was swinging a lot in that match.

"That match, however, was played with the Kookaburra ball. This time it will be SG. So it can be different. We expect the ball to swing more under lights and given the form our pacers are in, they will enjoy the conditions," Saha told ToI.

Once the pink ball gets old, the shine off it goes away and Saha believes that this is the time where it might be difficult picking the line and length of the ball.

"Yes, sighting was a bit of a problem once the ball got old and dirty. Especially during the twilight period, it can be challenging," he said.

Saha is very excited about India playing their first-ever pink-ball Test. But he is also aware of the lack of time for preparation and he knows that no team can be taken lightly, especially now that every game has become important with the introduction of the ICC Test Championship. He will be attending a training camp for the same at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

"We are excited but I haven't got to interact with my India teammates regarding the day-night Test. Will get to discuss it in the next few days. We won't have much preparation time. Hence we need to plan and adjust fast," he concluded.
