Dhaka Dynamites CEO Obaid Nizam said, on Saturday, that his franchise has no problem with Shakib Al Hasan opting to join another franchise in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). However, Nizam admitted that he would have liked it if Shakib had informed them about his intentions earlier.

After they were alleged to have blocked the all-rounder’s move to Rangpur Riders for the upcoming edition of BPL, the Dynamites have come out to make their stance perfectly clear.

"Shakib has left, he is a great player. He gave his service for the past three years. He has a special personality and is a very good cricketer. He is one of the best players I have seen playing for Bangladesh. If he wants to play in any other team, I am very transparent about this matter. If he goes to the other team and plays, I have no issues with it. He and any player can do that,” Nizam said, reported Cricbuzz.

However, the Dynamites chief rightly claimed that he would have expected both the player and the other franchise involved to follow the guidelines as prescribed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

"But there are some guidelines and rules that we all should follow. Many franchises have broken the rules and regulations earlier. have we demanded something which was not in BPL's guidelines?” Nizam said.

"What is the rule for the transition? A draft is usually made and before that draft, a retention list goes (to the board). We have to sit with the players before that list. We discuss mutually how we can progress. If both (players and franchise) are interested in each other, then we select him," Nizam added.

Meanwhile, the player’s move was eventually halted by the BCB, who instead decided to host a T20 tournament all by themselves without having franchises involved. While some franchises have claimed that one of the major reasons behind this unexpected move was taken because of a bias towards the Dynamites was dented, the board has stated that they needed time to draft a new model for the tournament.
