The cricketing world has witnessed bowlers with distinctive bowling styles and Sunil Narine is undoubtedly one of them. His impact was evident as Kolkata Knight Riders captain, Shreyas Iyer, mimicked Narine's unique technique during the match against Tamil Nadu in the Buchi Babu tournament.

‌In a highly-anticipated match, Mumbai faced TNCA XI, featuring star players like Pradosh Ranjan Paul, Baba Indrajith, R Sai Kishore, Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer Khan, and Shams Mulani. India internationals Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav also joined the Mumbai side for this final group match. TNCA XI reached 287-5 in 89 overs, needing just one more over to end the day. With left-handed Boopathi Kumar at the crease, the team was well-positioned for a strong finish. Additionally,  Iyer was surprisingly given the ball for the final over of the day and his action took everyone by surprise.

In the 90th over, Shreyas Iyer mimicked his IPL teammate Sunil Narine by gripping the ball behind his back and running up to the crease like the Trinidadian mystery spinner. However, the Mumbai bred had difficulty controlling his deliveries and led to a short ball, which Sonu Yadav took advantage of by hitting a big six over midwicket. This powerful shot ended the day's play with TNCA XI's score at 294-5. This wasn't the first time Iyer had mimicked Narine -- he was seen doing the same during IPL nets.  The Twitterverse found the imitation amusing, with many taking to social media to share their reactions.
