‌ENG vs SL | Twitter erupts as raging Root’s reverse scoop attempt leads to downfall

However, Root incurred a top-edge in the attempt and the ball skewed towards the short third man region where Pathum Nissanka took a regulation catch. 

Despite acting as a bridge in England’s commanding total with an outstanding century, the 33-year-old was seen fuming after his dismissal. He avoided playing the stroke on numerous cases this summer after his repeated failure against India in winter. The Twitterverse spotted it and was left in a frenzy after the failed attempt to execute his trademark stroke.
