Sport is known as a great entertainer, and often the stadiums are filled with crowds for thrilling events. However, fans don't seek terror for amusement as was the case when Shamar Joseph smacked a huge six to help West Indies take the lead in the second Test in Nottingham on Saturday.

‌West Indies were trailing by 65 runs with five wickets in hand at the start of the third day but failed to continue their merry way in the morning session. Tight lines from Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson baited Holder and the lower order reducing the visitors to 386/9 by the 99th over. However, the sudden spark in the English camp turned out gloomy in an hour with Shamar accompanying Da Silva and steering West Indies to a handy lead. The hallmark of the tenth wicket partnership was the assault that the duo launched against the hosts with Shamar’s six destroying furniture at the venue.

Wickets on back-to-back deliveries from Woakes in the 99th over brought England into the driver’s seat before Da Silva tried to soak in pressure for the next three overs in the first session. While he intended to keep maximum strike, a few good strokes from Shamar gained his trust as the game progressed.

Subsequently, West Indies reached 410/9 in 106 overs and Shamar pulled a short ball on the second delivery of the 106th over for a six towards deep square leg region. Stubborn in his approach, the bowler intended to test the No. 11 batter with another bumper and Shamar connected yet another pull stroke off the bat’s sweet spot. The duke sailed a long way over the deep square leg region to clatter on the rooftop of the stand and break a few tiles. The audience sitting underneath the shade was completely terrified by the falling mosaics, and the Twitterverse was left abuzz.
