‌ICC permits Lamichhane to join Nepal squad for West Indies leg

In a social media post, Lamichhane confirmed that he had landed in West Indies on June 9. He does not require a visa for St Vincent, Kingstown where Nepal will be playing their final couple of matches in the group stages. CAN requested the ICC to allow a late addition to their World Cup squad and the governing body approved the request. 

Then ICC allowed every team to make amendments to their T20 World Cup squad until May 25, and it is learned that CAN submitted 14 names on May 24 in expectation of Lamichhane’s late addition. However, the youngster was denied a US visa twice, and the board announced that the wrist spinner was going to miss the mega tournament. So, one of the 15 members of the squad is likely to get replaced with Lamicchane after the Sri Lanka encounter.

"We, along with Nepal government, had tried hard to secure a US visa for Lamichhane but that didn't work out," the President of CAN, Chatur Bahadur Chand said.

 "We had already requested the ICC to give an allowance for him to be added to the World Cup squad even as a late entry. The ICC has now allowed Lamichhane to be added for the last two matches,” he further added.
