In a marginal game like cricket even the minute moments in a contest could turn the plot. Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur seemed to walk the same lane before surviving an epic run out by a bare margin denying Royal Challengers Bangalore a potential breakthrough in WPL Eliminator.

Despite opting to bat first in the do-or-die encounter against Mumbai Indians, RCB could gather only 135 runs in the 20 overs on the back of a classic half-century from Ellyse Perry. However, their bowlers fought well in the low-scoring contest and extracted three wickets in the first half of the chase before Harmanpreet escaped a potential runout chance.

On the second ball of the 17th over, Georgia Wareham tossed up a fuller delivery much outside the off stump and Amelia Kerr drove it towards left of long off for a couple of runs. Harmanpreet Kaur was on the danger end as Sophie Devine made a good throw towards the bowler's end. Wareham whipped the stumps but the on-field umpire Gayathri Venugopalan sent it to the TV umpire and the Mumbai skipper was seen making an impact of the bat inside the crease before the willow rebounded off the soil. At the time of the ball making an impact with the stumps, Harman’s bat was in the air despite being already dragging it inside the crease. Hence, as per the laws the first point of impact was inside the crease and therefore Harmanpreet survived, thereby sending the Twitterverse into a frenzy.
