Putting faith in experience can do wonders and it turned out to be true for Pat Cummins and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday. Riding on the back of poor outings, pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar found his lethal swing back to dismantle Rajasthan Royals top-order in the first over itself in Hyderabad.

Despite getting a couple of wickets inside the powerplay a third wicket partnership of 96 runs between Nitish Reddy and Travis Head, coupled with Heinrich Klaasen’s lusty blows propelled Sunrisers to 201 runs total in 20 overs. In response, the RR got to a rocky start as Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson fell prey to Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s lethal swing in the first over itself.

On the second ball of the first over, the Uttar Pradesh-based pacer hit the good length mark around the fourth stump with a shade of outward swing, luring Buttler into a stroke. As the Englishman pushed at it, he got nicked on the outside edge and the ball travelled towards Marco Jansen at first slip, taking a nice reflexive catch.

Bhuvneshwar followed it up with an in-swinger and outswinger in the next two deliveries before producing a jaffa that cleaned up Sanju Samson. The right-arm pacer bowled over the wicket at a good length, pitching the ball bit outside the fourth stump line to drag the batter on the front foot. The white cherry jagged inward sharply to beat the inside edge of the willow and clatter onto the stumps, leaving Sanju Samson devastated.

The Twitterverse was delighted to see vintage Bhuvi back and here is how they reacted.
