SRH vs PBKS | Twitter roasts Yash Thakur for gifting Abhishek a lifeline amidst ‘Travishek’ hurricane

A no-ball can be frustrating for any bowler, but it stings even more when the batting side is in full flow. That’s exactly what happened during SRH’s clash against Punjab Kings, when Yash Thakur’s no-ball denied them Abhishek Sharma’s wicket after he was caught, adding to SRH’s woes.

‌Punjab Kings made full use of the batting-friendly pitch in Hyderabad and rode on Shreyas Iyer’s explosive 82 off 36 deliveries. While Harshal Patel’s four-wicket haul briefly pulled things back, Marcus Stoinis’s late blitz of 34 from just 11 balls powered Punjab to a commanding 245/ 6. In response, SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma came out firing and raced to 40/0 in just three overs.

An over later, a dramatic moment unfolded that swung in favour of Sharma and against Yash Thakur. On the fourth delivery of the fourth over, Punjab’s impact sub Yash Thakur bowled a length ball on the stumps. Sharma came down the track and gave himself room, and smacked hard, only to send it straight to Shashank Singh at deep backward point. Additionally, Shashank took a comfortable catchand Thakur celebrated, thinking he had drawn first blood.

But joy turned to despair in seconds as the no-ball siren echoed through the stadium as Thakur had overstepped. The packed Uppal crowd erupted, and the free hit that followed was punished by Sharma with a towering six. Twitter quickly picked up on the moment, with fans facepalming over Thakur’s misfortune.
