Pakistan Super League has remained on the headlines, despite the tournament being played behind closed doors. And this has been possible with the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings. The match was a lot intense, till Karachi Kings took it to the last over when they needed 14 runs off 6 balls.

Things took a dramatic turn, as Fakhar Zaman was caught tampering with the ball conditions. The umpires were quick enough to notice the same, and they replaced the ball with a new one having the same wear and tear. Also, Lahore Qalandars were handed a penalty of 5 runs, which reduced the target from 14 to 9 in the final over.

But this was not the end of the entire incident. The investigation on the same continued, and eventually, Fakhar Zaman received a ban for two PSL games. In the investigation, he has been found guilty for a Level 3 offense, breaching Article 2.14 for ball tampering.

Our Take

Lahore Qalandars are surely having a tough time in the Pakistan Super League. The team was expected to make headlines with its dominance, but they are making headlines with the breaches. Earlier, it was Shaheen Shah Afridi, who received a fine of 1 million PKR for a security breach at the team hotel.

And now it is Fakhar Zaman, who has received a two-match ban for the same. While he was proven guilty, Zaman didn't admit that he tampered with the ball. Some fans still argue that the punishment should be strict, and not just two games.
