Why Was Nitish Rana Stopped? Heated Exchange with Umpires Goes Viral
Nitish Rana has once again been involved in a heated debate in the IPL. It happened in the clash against Chennai Super Kings, as Rana wanted to enter the field and give new gloves to Tristan Stubbs. But the umpires denied him entry, resulting in a heated clash.

The clash between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals went berserk, as another clash started off the field. This happened during the chase, when Tristan Stubbs stood as the lone warrior for Delhi Capitals in the end. When he ran towards the batting end in the 19th over, he called to change his gloves.
Nitish Rana was ready to move into the field and hand over the gloves to Stubbs. But before he could keep his foot on the ground, the umpires stopped him. Eventually, he was denied to enter the field as the umpires said that changing the gloves and all is only permitted before a new over begins. This started a heated argument between Nitish Rana and the umpires.

Eventually on the very next delivery, Tristan Stubbs was dismissed after scoring 60 runs off 36 balls. When he walked back towards the dugout, he was clearly angry for not receiving the gloves when he wanted. He was also seen throwing his helmet in anger as he went back to the dressing room.
Our Take
As per the IPL regulations, players are not allowed to change gloves in the middle of the over. The argument by Nitish Rana could be in the heat of the moment, as the decision caused Stubbs to lose his wicket and eventually pull the match away from Delhi Capitals. However, the helmets, gloves, and pads could only be changed if they are subject to any damage or marked as unsafe during the game.
