Rajasthan Royals are the only IPL team which has played a game at The Lord's. This happened way back in 2009, when the team went against Middlesex for a charity game. RR was able to come out victorious in this game under the captaincy of Shane Warne.

The IPL teams have played their games in India and in some circumstances, even in Dubai and South Africa. But, have you ever thought of watching an IPL team perform at The Lord's? This has happened only once, and it happened with the IPL 2008 champions, Rajasthan Royals, as the team played in 2009.

It was the British Asian Cup, and Rajasthan Royals were set to play against Middlesex in the tournament. This match was played at The Lord's, as Rajasthan Royals were batting first in this game. Mohammad Kaif and Swapnil Asnodkar gave a strong start to the team, scoring 41 runs each, as Dimitri Mascarenhas finished with 32 off 16 to help them score 162/5.

Dimitri Mascarenhas and Sohail Tanvir were able to dominate the batting line-up of Middlesex, putting the game in RR’s hands.

Shane Warne and Abhishek Raut were able to take a wicket each, as Dimitri Mascarenhas and Sohail Tanvir took 2 and 3 wickets each. Middlesex only managed to post 116 runs for the loss of 7 wickets on the board. In the only match which Rajasthan Royals played at this venue, the team was able to win the game by 46 runs.

What Makes the Game Historic?

This match will forever remain historic for Rajasthan Royals, as they are the only team to have played a match at The Lord's. It still remains impossible for any IPL team to play a game at this venue, as all the IPL games are played mainly in India, with UAE being the second option.
