A few days back, the cricket fans were happy, as the news of Bhuvneshwar Kumar's comeback to the Indian team went viral. It was being said that he is being backed by the Indian selectors and analysts for the big tournament. Even after all this, he has not been picked by the team till now.

Fans picked a statement where Virat Kohli said that Bhuvi is a once in a lifetime pacer. And during the series against England, Shubman Gill also said that he is working with Virat to know what could suit the team according to the English conditions. This made fans think that Bhuvneshwar is set for a comeback.

But in a recent video, Aakash Chopra said, “Virat Kohli has said that a bowler like Bhuvneshwar Kumar does not come around very often. His ability to swing and seam is brilliant, and he should definitely be there in the 2027 World Cup team. This is Kohli's statement. There was one more breaking news that Bhuvneshwar is already selected for the ODI team. People started congratulating him and praising the BCCI. It is believable that such a thing can happen, and it is also our confirmation bias, as many people want him to be there. But neither has Kohli said such a thing, nor has any team been picked. We do want him to be there, but this is fake news.”

Our Take

It has been a long time since Bhuvneshwar Kumar last played for the Indian team. Ever since he went back to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, his performances improved and he even helped them to win the IPL, not once, but twice.
