Dhruv Jurel Becomes the First Indian After Ravindra Jadeja to Achieve This
Dhruv Jurel has managed to score yet another Test century for the Indian team. His second ton came in Sri Lanka, and this time he was batting at number seven. At this spot, the last Indian to score a century was Ravindra Jadeja back in 2022 when India was playing in Birmingham.
Dhruv Jurel is among the few batsmen who are repeatedly giving statements to the BCCI with their performances. Since he is now getting consistent opportunities to play for the team, he is able to count on them as much as possible. In the second Test against Sri Lanka, he managed to bring down his second Test century.
He was able to score 115 runs for the team in 177 balls and remained not out, with Captain Gill declaring the innings. With this, he became the first batsman since the 2022 Birmingham Test, to score a ton for the Indian team in this format while batting at number seven.
When India visited England to complete the final test of the series, Ravindra Jadeja became the star in the first innings of the game. As India managed to post 416 runs on the board, Jadeja was able to score 104 runs while coming to bat at number seven.

Dhruv Jurel is making a strong case for the Indian team with every single opportunity he gets to play. In just a few games, he has managed to score two centuries, while not being a part of the top order. Jurel capitalising on every single chance he gets is also a positive sign for Rajasthan Royals, as their players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel are able to create a mark in the longest format of the game.
