The Indian team may witness a comeback this year, as Mohammed Shami is keen to find his way back to the team. With his prolific performances in the domestic format, he has been keen to get back to the line-up. Currently he is playing for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy, as his team has progressed to the semi-finals.
What was more amazing than Bengal's win was the performance shown by Shami. Although he got limited overs to bowl, he was still able to give his best and maintained the line and length accurately. Following the game, Shami was also spotted having a talk with the selectors of the Indian team, which hints at a potential comeback.

Bengal reached the quarter finals of the Ranji Trophy, and they were all set to play against Arunachal Pradesh. With Arunachal Pradesh batting first in this game, Shami opened the innings for Bengal. He bowled just 17 overs in the first innings of the game, and took a wicket while conceding 37 runs.
Later, Bengal stepped out to bat and they were more dominant than expected. Shami came to bat in the lower order, and he went berserk, to help his team score well. He was able to score 53 runs off 33 balls, with 7 fours and 3 sixes. This further helped Bengal to receive a strong end to their innings, as they scored 629 runs before being all out.
The way Shami batted in this game showed that he is not just a strong bowler, he is still a reliable batsman for the team in the lower order.
