WATCH, BBL | Allen ragebaits Rauf into shoving exchange before melting tensions with hearty laguhter

There is no express pace without an aggressive streak, and it seems the fastest bowlers have always just hunted for an excuse to unless their mean sides. Haris Rauf seemed to think he had got one in the BBL against Perth Scorchers on Saturday, until Finn Allen burst his bubble with banter.

Perth Scorchers secured top spot in the league stage of the Big Bash League at home with a dominant six-wicket win over Melbourne Stars, chasing down a paltry target of 131 with 19 balls to spare. Finn Allen led the batting from the front with a 39-ball 69 to climb to second in the season's charts, which proved more than enough to outdo Haris Rauf's riveting 3/23 in his quota of four overs. The Pakistani quick was box office from the get go, in more ways than one.

Rauf dialled up the heat as soon as he was handed the ball in the third over with a short-ball to Mitchell Marsh to bag his wicket, before scalping Cooper Connolly two balls later with another back-of-a-length delivery. His tail up, Rauf prodded at the newly arrived Josh Inglis with gorgeous deliveries into the channeel, ending the over by narrowly beating the outside edge. As he was walking back from his follow through, Rauf barged shouleders with an approaching Allen from the non-striker's end, and quickly turned around with anger writ large on his face to confront. However, Allen surprisingly broke out into loud laughter, enough to make Rauf break down laughing himself. The pacer realized there was no harm intent involved, and later went back to Allen to offer what seemed like an apology.

Rauf eventually got Inglis the first ball of his next over, but Allen struck the only six off him on the evening four balls later against a 146ks bumer.
