IND vs NZ | Twitter stunned as Ferguson’s bid to outfox Surya goes awfully wrong in dangerous delivery

Fast bowlers often terrify batters with raw pace, but Lockie Ferguson had a different route to floor Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav in the fifth T20I in Trivandrum. The New Zealand pacer accidentally bowled a beamer to a kneeling Surya as the ball fizzed its way just past the veteran batter’s head.

‌Abhishek Sharma got off to his customary aggressive opening after India won the toss and opted to bat against New Zealand in the final T20I in Trivandrum on Saturday. But once the southpaw left, Ishan Kishan and captain Suryakumar Yadav compounded the visitors’ miseries further.

The pair sent the bowlers on a leather hunt, taking the hots past the 100-run mark in the 10th over. Soon, Kishan tore into Ish Sodhi to plunder 29 runs in a single over to reach his fifty, and Surya also looked well set.

The Kiwi skipper Mitchell Santner then had to bring in his most successful bowler, Lockie Ferguson, in an attempt to cut the run flow. But the pacer got his radar awfully wrong while trying to outfox the Indian skipper, who tried to kneel in an attempt to scoop the pacer.

Ferguson bowled a beamer that went right past the veteran batter’s head to the keeper before Surya lay down in relief, having ducked at the right time. The umpire was quick to signal a no-ball and a free hit was rightly awarded too as the bowler rushed in to apologise.

Twitter was on the edge as the ball whizzed past a kneeling Surya, but all ended well as both shook hands and hugged before action resumed.
