After Rohit and Virat, Suryakumar Yadav Added to List of Unfulfilled Commitments
Suryakumar Yadav has been sacked as a captain and even removed from the Indian T20I team. This looks to have marked an end to his T20I career, which has shocked the fans. But, he has joined Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the list of players with unfulfilled promises.

Every cricketer is known to make some promises with their fans. While the majority of these promises are completed, some remain incomplete, often hurting the fans when they remember the contribution of that player. Earlier this list only had the names of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, but now Suryakumar Yadav has also joined the same.
Virat Kohli said back in 2011 that he wanted to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket. But he retired scoring 9230 runs in his favourite format. Rohit Sharma said that he is not retiring when he missed the fifth Test against Australia. But he announced his retirement from the game a few months later.
After India had won the T20 World Cup 2026, Suryakumar Yadav said that the next target is Olympics Gold and T20 World Cup 2028. But now, with the BCCI looking for a future skipper, he has not been in the plans for the team in the upcoming tournaments. This makes Suryakumar Yadav another Indian player whose promises were incomplete.
Our Take
Players such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav have done a lot for the Indian team. While the first two helped the team across all formats, the contribution of Suryakumar Yadav was mainly limited in the shortest format of the game. Their contributions would have been worth remembering for the fans if the promises they made were completed by them. But now, they would be remembered for unexpected retirements or selection setbacks.
