Lucknow Super Giants have made a different and spiritual decision before IPL 2026. Ahead of the tournament, team owner Sanjiv Goenka and captain Rishabh Pant paid a visit to the sacred Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, where they went in search of blessings, prior to the commencement of the big season.
Indeed, LSG appear to be sparing none when it comes to tournament preparation, and they have only a few days to go. To symbolically and positively kick-start their IPL 2026 tour, a group of the management, including Pant, visited Ayodhya to perform prayers and get off on a holistic note.
The fans were drawn to the visit shortly using their social media accounts as the official LSG page posted sneak previews of what was happening. It was verified by the post that Sanjiv Goenka accompanied by Rishabh Pant and other squad members had gone to the temple to take blessings before the new season. The message with the ending line as Jai Shree Ram, generated buzz among followers.

The team also participated in rituals which were made special during their visit to the temple. They attended the Bhog Aarti which is a holy offering prayer, and this activity is believed to be very auspicious. The group also visited the Shri Ram Yantra, adding more to their spiritual visit.
As one of the post-visit comments, Sanjiv Goenka said that he thought that having faith and positivity prior to a great tournament was important. He said that invoking the blessings of Lord Ram offers some assurance and makes all things work out, particularly when a big campaign such as IPL is to take place.
Our Take
Although directly a temple visit might not have any influence on the field performance, it definitely raises morale levels and makes the team members unified. This spiritual start in the case of Lucknow Super Giants might be the progenitor of an assertive campaign. LSG will be looking forward to beginning the season with a win and it will have Rishabh Pant who is the head coach and considerable support from Sanjiv Goenka.
