Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won the IPL 2026 qualifier 1, marching into the finals. The team has now made it to consecutive IPL finals. However, over the last eight seasons, the teams winning Qualifier 1 have won the tournament too.

History is definitely on the side of Royal Challengers Bengaluru following their triumph in getting their victory in the Qualifier 1 to secure the Indian Premier League 2026 final spot in the recent clash. At any rate, history is all in their favour following their recent win to book the place in the final in Indian Premier League 2026 tournament.

Remarkably, the first team in the last eight IPL seasons to qualify for the final has won the big trophy. RCB was able to show some stellar performances in Qualifier 1 against Gujarat Titans. Winning the first Qualifier over Gujarat Titans, they now have a chance to win the title again.

The most complete side so far with captain Rajat Patidar, as the RCB looked like they were the best team this season. They got to the top of their points table and then produced a record breaking performance in Qualifier 1 to make them run into a back to back finals.

Our Take

In the last few editions of the IPL, those teams which snatched victory in Qualifier 1 have had a huge edge since they not only get the rest they need but also direct qualification for the final. Even when it comes to previous IPL seasons, the first finalist is often proclaimed the champion. With momentum, form & history on their side, RCB fans hope the defending champions can go ahead and lift their second successive IPL trophy. It remains to be seen which team faces RCB in the finals.
